Barker Bros. Employees' Big Picnic

The employees of the large furniture and music house of Barker Bros, of Los Angeles held their regular annual picnic at Santa Monica Beach.
Including the families of the several hundred employees, the picnickers numbered between 2,000 and 2,500, making it the biggest
affair of the kind ever held by the firm.
The trip to the beach was made in automobiles and auto buses.
The day was spent in ocean bathing,
surf-board stunts, baseball, racing and games of various other kinds.
The committee on arrangements was headed by John W. Boothe, manager of the music department.
