DESIGN HISTORY

Brothers Neilsen Surfboards
Surfers Paradise,Burleigh Heads, Queensland.
The sons of Surfer Paradise's first professional life guard Bill Neilsen, Paul and his brother Rick both were introduced to surfing at an early age.
The company was started by the Paul and Rick Neilsen, after working for local board builder,
Hohensee Surfboards.
The brother's local reputation was enhanced by their domination at Burleigh Heads and nationally by Paul's
contest success, with the accompanying media exposure.
He was second
in the 1970 Bobby Brown Memorial Contest at Cronulla and first in the1971 Australian Titles at Bells Beach.
The following year he took
first place in the Smirnoff Contest held at Sunset Beach, and was a finalist in the 1972 Hang Ten Pro and the 1976 Rip Curl Bells.
