Image forwarded by Chris, November 2014. Chris noted: I think my brother had this. I was born in 74 and he was 7 years older. I think I inherited it about 79. Still got it. You can see the top of the front flap has been repaired (thanks mum), and the back of the strap entirely reinforced (leaving the front showing the original red and blue stitching. The entire back panel and bottom have been reinforced as well - so the inside lining is all original, except where it opens, where it's double reinforced. My kids have given it a nickname, and I kinda like it: Patch. You'd have to offer me a hellova lot to part with it because of sentimental value. I really don't think I would - I still use it regularly I find it amazing there is almost no info on the web about this brand - no Wikipedia page, practically no images. What the?? Hot Tuna Boardshorts White Western print panels and cuffs. Elastic waist band and string tie. . The brand started
in Taree in 1969 by
Richard and Jo-Anne
Meldrum.
They employed local artists to design their t-shirt and advertising artworks and remained in the area despite pressures for the pair to re-locate to other surfing hubs along the coast. In 2002, Federation Group bought 85 per cent of Hot Tuna from the surf-gear group's founders, Richard and Jo-Anne Meldrum, for $6.6 million. Hot
Tuna were a 1969 offshoot band of San
Francisco's Jefferson
